Summerbridge is a small village in the heart of Nidderdale.  Nidderdale is designated as an 'Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. This traditional village school, which celebrated it's centenary in 1994, is an integral part of village life and a focal point within the community. It primarily serves the villages of Summerbridge, Dacre Banks, Low Laithe, Smelthouses, Wilsill, New York and Hartwith.

The school is well supported locally and attracts children who live outside the official catchment area. It is also on the local bus route although many of our children walk to school.

The school building is situated in attractive gardens and has grassed areas and a substantial rear playground for the children. The building has a large central hall, three classrooms, a staff room, administrative office, headteacher's office, store rooms, kitchens and a central library.
